Top5 2019 02 Star Wars Bg

5

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, California

Step into the shoes of Luke Skywalker

The Galaxy far away will come just a little bit closer this year. This summer, Disneyland California will inaugurate its brand-new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. True Star Wars fans will be thrilled with attractions such as Millennium Falcon, where visitors can pilot the fastest spaceship in the universe, and the Star Wars Rise of the Resistance, an epic battle between the Resistance and the First Order. Later in the year, Disney World Florida will inaugurate a similar attraction.

Top5 2019 03 Lake Bled Bg

4

Lake Bled, Slovenia

Enchanting lake in the heart of the Alps

In the middle of lake Bled lies the most beautiful spot in Slovenia: Blejski Otok. A wooded island with a charming church. This romantic location earned a well-deserved spot in the top 5. Located on a precipice, Castle Bled offers a breathtaking view of the lake and this fairy-tale island.

Top5 2019 04 Bourkes Luck Potholes Bg

3

Bourke’s Luck Potholes, South Africa

Nature's artwork in a deep ravine

The Bourke's Luck Potholes are located along the spectacular Panorama route in South Africa. This site was discovered by Tom Bourke in his search for gold. The Blyde and Treur Rivers come together here and form a fast flowing cauldron of water. These whirlpools have created countless cylinder-shaped holes. The best view of this natural artwork is from a small bridge suspended 30 metres above the ravine.

Top5 2019 05 Bay Of Fires Bg

2

Bay of Fires, Australia

A beach studded with fiery red rocks

Miles and miles of white sand, crisp blue water and fiery red rocks: the Bay of Fires in Tasmania may very well be the most beautiful beach in Australia. Here you can marvel at no less than fifty kilometres of incredible natural beauty. Although the name seems inspired by the red rocks, the beach was actually named by Captain Tobias Furneaux in 1773. When he sailed towards the coast it seemed ablaze with the many fires lit by the Aboriginals on the beach.

Rainbow Mountain, Peru

Every colour in the rainbow

Vinicunca, or Rainbow Mountain, is nestled in the Peruvian Andes. In Quechua, the most important Inca language, the name means ‘the seven-colour mountain’. Rainbow Mountain owes its colourful appearance to all of the minerals in its soil. The colours are at their most intense early in the morning and when the sun is shining brightly.
